Colonial Comfort

A recent post from the lovely Holly over at Things That Inspire introduced me to this beautiful kitchen by Gwyn Duggan Associates.  I wasted no time.  I had to explore  the rest of the home featured in Atlanta Home Magazine, and it certainly does not disappoint!  There is an exquisite mix of refined and rustic furnishings.

The homeowners took special care in building a home that would fit into the Peachtree Battle neighbourhood of Atlanta.  The interior certainly complements the incredible attention to detail that went into building this Dutch Colonial.  It's an open concept for a young family, that as a huge kitchen that overlooks a massive dining table and leads to the family area.  I have always been a huge fan of exercising restraint in design, and this home really seems to do that well, allowing for luxury that is a little less formal.  Open Spaces, with simple fabrics and impeccable details

It's hard to believe it's a new build when you see it form here.  They used Fieldstone for the front facade, and  huge porch for a most peaceful change of scenery.
